This renovation of a Classic Midwestern foursquare reimagined a 100-year-old residence into a warm and inviting family sanctuary—where timeless character meets fresh, energizing design. Guided by an intention to honor the home’s inherent charm while introducing vibrant personality, every detail was thoughtfully selected to strike a balance between heritage and modern living.
A full gut renovation of the kitchen and bathrooms laid the foundation for a roomier footprint and family-friendly layout. Plaster restoration and the careful refinishing of every surface resulted in a home that feels both fresh and deeply rooted in its history.
Custom white oak cabinetry repeated throughout the home brings a sense of organic richness and understated luxury, while invigorating tile selections with zippy layouts add color, texture, and visual intrigue. A carefully composed blend of traditional and contemporary lighting and hardware introduces a dynamic contrast—elevating each space with sophistication, warmth, and a touch of modern edge.
